Corporate Gifting and Catering in Kuala Lumpur

Corporate Gifting and Catering in Kuala Lumpur

Corporate gifts have a reputation problem. Most of them are forgettable, and everyone in the room knows it. Food is the exception, because a gift someone actually eats and remembers does a job that a branded desk object never will. Benvenuti, and let’s talk about corporate gifting and catering in Kuala Lumpur done properly.

We’re an Italian deli, cafe and pizzeria in Bukit Bintang, and we’ve been importing Italian products since 2011. That combination means we can handle both sides of corporate work: things you send, and things you serve.

Why food makes a better corporate gift

A gift is remembered for how it made someone feel, and food does that better than most categories. It gets shared around an office or a family table rather than sitting on a shelf. It suits every level of seniority without anyone having to guess at taste. And genuine imported Italian products carry an obvious quality that recipients recognise immediately, without a price tag having to announce it.

It also avoids the central failure of corporate gifting, which is giving people something they’d never have chosen. Almost nobody objects to good olive oil, real Parmigiano or a bottle of Italian wine.

Corporate gifts we can put together

Tell us the occasion, the recipients and roughly what you’d like to spend, and we’ll build it from our shelves:

  • Client and partner gifts. Imported Italian products chosen to suit the relationship, from a single considered item to a fuller selection.
  • Staff and team gifts. Consistent gifts across a team, for a festive season, a milestone or a thank-you after a hard quarter.
  • Gift cards. When you’d rather let people choose for themselves, our gift cards work well, and the recipient can spend them on a meal or on groceries.
  • Seasonal gifting. Festive periods get busy quickly, so the earlier we know, the better we can do. Keep an eye on our promotions.

Everything can be built from our Italian grocery store: cheese, charcuterie, olive oil and vinegars, pasta, coffee, sweets and wine.

Catering and events

This is the side of the business people know least about, and it’s where fifteen years of experience shows.

Beyond the deli and the cafe, Bottega runs events and masterclasses, has hosted Michelin-star chefs, and has catered major events including MotoGP and Formula One. Between those and the parties we’ve run at our own address over the years, there is very little about feeding a crowd we haven’t encountered.

What that means for you:

  • Office catering. Boards, platters and Italian food for meetings, launches and team lunches.
  • Corporate events. Larger gatherings where the food needs to work as a centrepiece rather than an afterthought.
  • Masterclasses and experiences. Something more memorable than another venue hire, built around learning and tasting.

Our events page has more, and for grazing spreads specifically, our charcuterie board delivery covers what’s possible.

Why work with a deli rather than a gifting company

A gifting company buys in whatever is available and wraps it. We import the products ourselves and have done since 2011, which changes three things.

We know what’s in the box, because we chose it, sell it in our shop and cook with it in our kitchen. If a recipient asks what something is or how to use it, that answer exists.

Quality is consistent, because the supply chain is ours rather than assembled per order from whatever a wholesaler had that week.

We can do both halves. Most corporate food needs fall into gifts you send and food you serve, and very few suppliers handle both properly. We do, from the same shelves.

Delivery for corporate orders

Corporate gifts and catering go out the same way as everything else: across the Klang Valley within about an hour, packed cold where perishables are involved, with a same-day cut-off of 6:15pm and no Sunday or public holiday delivery.

We also ship outstation to Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh and Penang, which matters if you’re sending gifts to clients or offices beyond the city. Our delivery coverage guide sets out the areas and charges.

For multiple recipients at different addresses, talk to us first rather than placing separate orders, and we’ll work out the most sensible way to handle it.

Gifts that don’t disappoint at the other end

A note from experience, since corporate gifts fail in predictable ways.

Avoid anything requiring effort. A recipient opening a gift at their desk wants something they can eat or take home, not a project.

Consider where it lands. An office with no fridge is the wrong destination for fresh cheese, so pantry items travel better in that setting.

Think about the household. Many corporate gifts are opened at home with family, which is an argument for something shareable rather than a single serving.

Explain what it is. A short note about why a product is good turns a gift into something memorable, and it costs nothing.

What we’d ask you for

To put together something genuinely suitable rather than generic, it helps enormously if you can tell us:

  • The occasion and the impression you want to make.
  • How many recipients, and whether they’re at one address or many.
  • Your budget, per gift or in total. We’d far rather build something excellent within your number than guess at it.
  • Any dietary requirements, including pork-free preferences, so nothing lands awkwardly.
  • When you need it. Festive periods fill up, so early notice genuinely improves what we can do.

Frequently asked questions

Q1. Can you handle gifts for a large number of recipients?
Ans. Yes. Tell us the numbers and whether they’re going to one address or many, and we’ll work out the most practical approach with you.

Q2. Do you deliver corporate gifts outside Kuala Lumpur?
Ans. Yes, we ship outstation to Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh and Penang alongside our Klang Valley delivery. Outstation timings are longer, so allow for that.

Q3. How far in advance should we order?
Ans. As early as you can, particularly for festive seasons, which get busy quickly. Early notice gives us far more room to build something good.

Q4. Can gifts be branded or personalised?
Ans. Tell us what you have in mind when you enquire and we’ll let you know what’s workable for your order.

Q5. What if we don’t know what to send?
Ans. Give us the occasion, the recipients and a budget, and we’ll suggest something. That’s usually a better starting point than a catalogue.

Q6. Do you cater for events outside your venue?
Ans. Yes, we cater events and have worked on major ones including MotoGP and Formula One. Get in touch with the details.

Q7. Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
Ans. Tell us what’s needed, including pork-free preferences, when you enquire and we’ll build around it.

Q8. Can we host an event or masterclass at Bottega?
Ans. We do run events and masterclasses at our Bukit Bintang address. Our events page has more, and we’ll discuss what suits.

Q9. Are gift cards an option for staff gifts?
Ans. Yes, and they work well when tastes vary, since recipients can spend them on a meal or on groceries. See our gift cards.

Q10. How do we get a quote?
Ans. Contact us with your occasion, recipient numbers, budget and date, and we’ll come back to you with options.
