Delivery Coverage, Minimum Order & How It Works

Before you fill your basket, here’s everything you need to know about getting your Italian groceries, wine and food delivered: where we reach, what it costs, how quickly it arrives and how the whole thing works. We believe in being clear and upfront, so there are no surprises at the door. Bottega has delivered across Kuala Lumpur since 2011, and we’ve built this service around one simple idea: getting real Italian to you should be easy, fast and honest.

Everything is packaged and delivered directly from our deli in Bukit Bintang, with the same care we put into choosing it.

Where we deliver

We currently deliver to five areas across Peninsular Malaysia:

  • Klang Valley (our home turf, including KL and the surrounding cities)
  • Johor Bahru
  • Melaka
  • Ipoh
  • Penang

If you’re in or around the Klang Valley, you get our fastest service. For the other cities, we run a dedicated outstation delivery so you can enjoy real Italian wherever you are.

Within the Klang Valley, your exact delivery charge depends on your postcode, so two neighbourhoods a few kilometres apart may see slightly different rates. Whatever it is, you’ll see it clearly before you pay.

How long delivery takes

  • Klang Valley: About 1 hour, the same day. Order before 6:15pm and it arrives that day, usually within the hour. Orders placed after 6:15pm are delivered the next day.
  • Johor Bahru, Melaka and Ipoh: delivered within 6 days on our outstation service.
  • Penang: also covered by our outstation delivery, and served locally by Bottega Penang for dine-in and nearby needs.

Please note: we do not deliver on Sundays or public holidays. For those dates, order ahead and choose an available slot.

Minimum order and free delivery

There’s no minimum to place an order, but spending a little more unlocks free delivery:

  • Klang Valley: delivery is free on orders of RM400 and above. Below that, the charge is based on your postcode and shown at checkout.
  • Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh and Penang: a flat RM40, or free on orders over RM600.

It’s an easy threshold to reach when you’re stocking a pantry, planning a dinner or sending a generous gift, and it means more of your spend goes on the good things rather than the journey.

How it works, step by step

  1. Browse and choose. Shop the Italian grocery store or order from our kitchen.
  2. Enter your address and slot. We deliver only to the address you give us, so please double-check it and make sure someone will be home to receive the order.
  3. Pay your way. Pay securely online, or by cash on delivery.
  4. We pack and deliver. Your order leaves fresh from Bukit Bintang and arrives within your chosen window.

Keeping perishables perfect

Fresh and frozen products are packed with real care. As needed, your order is wrapped with ice packs and placed in an insulated container, so cheese, cured meats, seafood and frozen treats arrive at their best, even in the KL heat. It’s the same standard we’d want for our own kitchen, because anything less wouldn’t be worth sending.

If a delivery can’t be completed

Because we deliver only to the address you provide, an incorrect or incomplete address can’t be guaranteed to arrive on time. If we’re unable to complete a delivery, we return the order to our shop and can send it back out to a different address or time slot for RM15 within the Klang Valley.

Returns and refunds

We’re a family-owned business, and we want you to love what arrives. A few honest notes on returns:

  • Perishable items: please inspect your order before confirming receipt with the driver. Once received, perishables can’t be returned. If something doesn’t meet your expectations at the door, the driver will take it back on your behalf. If you paid by cash on delivery, its price is deducted on the spot; if you paid online, we’ll credit your original payment method or issue a credit voucher for your next order.
  • Non-perishable items: these can be returned within 30 days of receipt. Replacement, credit or refund is processed once the product is back in our inventory and in good condition. Delivery charges aren’t refundable.

Frequently asked questions

Q1. Where does Bottega deliver?
Ans. We deliver to the Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh and Penang. The Klang Valley gets our fastest 1-hour service; the other cities are covered by our outstation delivery. If you’re outside these areas, do get in touch and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

Q2. How long does delivery take?
Ans. 1 hour in the Klang Valley, the same day. For Johor Bahru, Melaka and Ipoh, orders arrive within 6 days on our outstation service. Penang is covered too, and also served locally by Bottega Penang.

Q3. What’s the minimum order for free delivery?
Ans. In the Klang Valley, delivery is free on orders of RM400 and above. For Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh and Penang, delivery is free on orders over RM600. There’s no minimum to order, only a threshold that unlocks free delivery.

Q4. How much does delivery cost if I’m under the minimum?
Ans. In the Klang Valley, the charge is based on your postcode and shown at checkout. For Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh and Penang, it’s a flat RM40.

Q5. What’s the same-day cut-off time?
Ans. For the Klang Valley, order before 6:15pm and your delivery arrives the same day, usually within the hour. Orders after 6:15pm are delivered the next day, so it’s worth keeping that cut-off in mind when you’re planning dinner.

Q6. Do you deliver on Sundays or public holidays?
Ans. No, we don’t deliver on Sundays or public holidays. Please place your order in advance and choose an available delivery slot around those dates.

Q7. How are fresh and frozen items handled?
Ans. They’re carefully packed with ice packs in an insulated container as needed, keeping cheese, cured meats, seafood and frozen items at their best from our shop to your door.

Q8. What happens if I’m not home or my address is incomplete?
Ans. We can only guarantee delivery to a correct, complete address with someone available to receive it. If a delivery can’t be completed, we return it to the shop and can re-send it to a different address or slot for RM15 in the Klang Valley.

Q9. Can I return items or get a refund?
Ans. Perishables should be checked at the door and can’t be returned once received. Non-perishables can be returned within 30 days, with replacement, credit or refund once they’re back in good condition. Delivery charges aren’t refundable.

Q10. How can I pay?
Ans. You can pay securely online when you order, or by cash on delivery. Both are simple, and you’ll confirm everything before your order is sent.
