Fenocchio Barolo Villero DOCG

(94 pts JS) Deep garnet red with ruby reflections. Complex and fruit aroma with floral scents, spices and plums. Intense flavour with sweet tannins and a long aftertaste. Aged 6 months in stainless steel tanks, 30 months in Slavonian oak and maturation in the bottle. Ripe-strawberry fruit core, coated with chalky-mineral and floral notes. Hints of tar, too. The same fine, chalky texture to the tannins on the medium-to full-bodied palate, giving a firm, fine-grained finish. Plenty of underlying substance. Very young feel.
